Why Use Us

Established in 2017 we are the only specialized Clearing Sale business in the South Burnett.

When you engage Steffensen Auctioneering you are obtaining the services of one of the

South Burnett's most experienced auctioneers. With a history dating back to 1980 Bill has sold

Real Estate, Livestock and Chattels across the  North &South Burnett, Wide Bay,  Darling Downs and Victoria.

Our vendors traditionally include Home Owners, Rural Property owners, Charity Organisations, Private Business', Estate Executors and Private Vendors.

We have a solid reputation as market leaders; gained from our commitment to providing the best possible service to our clients. Our clearing sales attract local, state and interstate bidders. We have an extensive mailing list and clearing sales are advertised in local, state & interstate newspapers, online and flyers depending on the clients instructions.

. Free advice as to how to market your items - how much and where to advertise for best results

. Mail outs to our  online subscribers & mailing list

. Our clearing sales attract buyers from a wide cross section and geographical locations.


Our vendors are paid according to OFT guidelines, within 14 working days unless extenuating circumstances

 General On site clearing sales:

We  conduct an  onsite clearing sale at your home or business. We can advise how to display your items in situ and how our auction team conduct the clearing sale for you.

Deceased Estate clearing sales:

We can assist in the handling of deceased estates and can advise how to arrange local help with sorting, packing, cleaning and sale setup.


Bill is able to come to your home or business and appraise your items for Market Value based on items of a similar nature sold at auction. Please Note: Appraisal is NOT a valuation. Market value's may fluctuate at any given period.


Attending a clearing sale auction can be an exciting and memorable experience. For many people it is a great opportunity to network with other people and to acquire a range of items at a reasonable cost. Most clearing sales have onsite catering; usually used as a fund raising event for a local school, charity or organization. Toilet facilities are also provided.

 Bidding System

All bidders must fill out a bid card before bidding. Photo ID is required. The Clearing Sale is run under an auction system and  is conducted according to the rules outlined on the bidding card. The Auctioneers decision is always final.


Our clearing sale auctions are advertised in the local, state and interstate newspapers according to our clients instructions. Official viewing times can be arranged by prior arrangement. Photo's and a printable list are available on our website.

Estimates of Value and history 

 We are  happy to advise you of any history we know about the item. Value of the goods is determined at auction, general information on goods value is subject to change.


Be sure to inspect items thoroughly. There are no Guarantees at auction so be sure of what you are buying.

Buyers Premium - No Buyer's Premium unless advertised otherwise.

GST - Most items attract GST at the fall of the hammer. The Auctioneer will advise prior to selling.

Payment: We accept cash, cheque or EFT on the day of the sale **Prior approval only**( must be able to show receipt number).** DEPENDS ON MOBILE COVERAGE**

Transport - We can advise transport options available at  individual sales.

Absentee Bidding & Phone Bidding

We can bid on your behalf if you cannot attend. Under this system prior arrangements must be made with the Auctioneer, Mr Bill Steffensen.
