Cattle Producers Don't Be Caught Out

Please be aware Kingaroy Regional council are now charging all users of the yards ON THE DAY  when cattle are dipped. You will need to have your credit/eftpos card with you.

Cattle Producers: The exemption allowing temporary COVID-19 branding relief for cattle producers ceased as of 30 June 2023, coinciding with the scaling back of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency. As of July 1 all cattle over 100kg must be branded and details added to NVD when selling cattle.

Alert: Cattle Ticks on the Move

Some outbreaks happening in clean country from Ironpot to Wondai.

If you have a suspected tick outbreak:

Suggested options: 

Talk to DPI, muster your cattle, keep them in overnight. The ticks will become distressed and engorge making them easier to see.

Contact a third part provider for Tick inspections (there are a number in the area) who can suggest a treatment plan.

Advise your neighbours and make a plan together to control the outbreak. Third party providers will notify the DPI of the outbreak. It is not the end of the world to have a tick outbreak but controlling it is good management practice for yourself and the whole cattle industry.
